VASL Tournaments

The great thing about being an internet-based club is that we can still hold club tournaments, even when we're hundreds of miles apart, thanks to the great invention known as VASL.

For those who haven't heard of VASL (which stands for Virtual ASL), VASL is a stand-alone, Java-based program that allows you to upload all of the boards and counters and play ASL right on your computer. While VASL doesn't provide a computer opponent, you can log onto the VASL server and play games in real-time, on-line. Or, you can construct log files using VASL's logfile utility and trade moves via e-mail (PBEM).

If you haven't downloaded VASL ... what are ya waitin' fer, man? Go to http://www.vasl.org and download the program, mapboards, HASL maps, and overlays ... then hop online and enter one of our tournaments.

New!! TRAC VASL Tournament #1 is now underway! Be sure to check out the Club Members VASL tournament page for pairings, results, and scenario lists.

Here's a sample of some theme tournaments we have in mind:

  • Red Barricades Tournament (using RB scenarios only)
  • Bungle in the Jungle (PTO-only tournament)
  • Ost Front (Russian-German scens)
  • Heavy Metal (huge tank battles)
  • 501 City Fight (scens set in city terrain only)

When we're not holding specific themed tournaments, we're holding open tournaments. We think we've got something for everyone's tastes ... even yours.

Stay tuned to this page for announcements of scheduled tournaments, results, and after-action reports.
